Isn’t it funny when “About” pages are written in the third-person, even when the author obviously wrote it theirself?

I sure think so. And after Wes Blackwell failed several attempts to sound sophisticated writing that way, he quickly cut the crap and decided to drop all the pretentiousness.

Others often feel the need to pack this page with a long list of accomplishments and make it read like a bloated résumé or the Tinder profile of some poor chump desperate to get a date.

But does that do anything to impress you or add value to the conversation? I think not.

So then, let’s just cut to the chase and answer the question that’s really on your mind…

“Is this person worth paying attention to?”

And for most of you reading this, the answer is NO.

Here’s why…

1) I Can't Help You Get Rich Quick

I know… what a bummer.

If that’s what you’re looking for, you won’t find it here.

But there’s plenty of other people out there promising overnight success and easy riches, so maybe try them instead.

Look, I get it…

The lure of financial abundance, time freedom, and fame and fortune is what attracts most people to business.

But if you’re going to succeed, it’s not going to be easy.

It’s going to take a lot of hard work, frustration, and perseverance to get there.

So if you’re not prepared to put in ten times more effort than you’re probably expecting, then I’m not your guy.

2) I Can't Show You How to Get Paid for Doing Nothing

Damn… another buzzkill. I’m quite the party-pooper, aren’t I?

But like it or not, the only place where success comes before work is in the dictionary.

When most people look for “the easy way” to do something, what it really means is that they don’t want to work. They want to get paid for doing nothing and make money while they sleep.

And while passive income is possible, it takes hard work to set it up AND maintain. So you can’t just expect to get it without rolling up your sleeves and pouring some blood, sweat and tears.

You get what you work for, not what you wish for. There is no elevator to success. You have to take the stairs.

So if you want to find success, you better get to working.

And if you don’t enjoy working, you best get to steppin’…

3) I Care More About Helping People Than Making Money

Shocking, I know.

In a world full of fake gurus and second-rate scam artists, it’s a rarity to find someone who actually gives a shit about the people who buy from them. Nowadays it seems everyone is more concerned about looking good than helping their customers succeed.

And if you ask me, that’s pretty damn lame.

Imagine a sea of troubled souls out there, wandering around hopelessly lost, praying for an answer to their problems…

They need help. And you can help them… by selling them a solution.

But your clients and customers aren’t your paycheck. They’re your partners.

By selling to them, you become a trusted partner in helping them solve a problem and reach their goals. You’re not just some salesman who sold them something.

You become a partner in their success… or their failure.

And when you focus on your success instead of theirs, they’re certain to fail.

So if you’re the kind of person who cares more about what’s in it for you than what you can do for them, then we won’t get along.

But I should also say that I know this stuff works beyond the shadow of a doubt because I’ve seen firsthand how it can boost your business and increase your income in record time.

And guess what? None of it worked. None of it. It all sucked.

My efforts to get business seemed like nothing more than a giant waste of time and an endless money pit that drained me of all my hard-earned income.

I wasted so much money on shiny objects, fancy crap and worn-out strategies that didn’t work, only to spend months chasing customers till they blocked my calls, begging them for business and lowering my prices until profits were non-existent.

But for the life of me, I couldn’t understand why I wasn’t successful…

I was nice. I was charming. I was well put-together and good at what I did, but none of that mattered. I thought it’d help if I lowered my prices, but that didn’t work either.

I was completely lost and utterly frustrated. I was hopeless. It seemed as though I’d never escape that hell.

But once I stumbled across the concept of personal branding, I learned everything there was to know about it and used it to transform my business and completely turn my life around. And I’ve helped others do the same.
